About Us

At OGT Inns, luxury means providing beautiful and comfortable spaces, complementary amenities, exceptional services, and, genuine, friendly and helpful interactions!

We believe that travel is more than just a destination, it's a journey. OGT Inns was founded on the principles of hospitality, warmth, comfort, and community.  We strive to make each and every guest feel like a part of our unique Maine Village!

Our Story

In January of 2020, Heath Ouellette purchased the Nellie Littlefield Inn & Spa.  At the time, he never envisioned owning more than one property.  At the time, he was full-filling a dream to be an innkeeper and to create a warm, unhurried place where Ogunquit travelers feel like guests rather than customers.  His goal was simple, combine thoughtful hospitality with elevated and comfortable spaces so every stay feels personal and memorable.

Little did he know that his dream was about to be greater!   In early 2021, Heath was approached by a fellow inn owner about buying another local bed and breakfast and Heath vision began to expand.  After purchasing two more properties, Moon Over Maine and High Rock Guest Studios, Heath envisioned a more overarching approach to enhance guest experiences.  This is when he created, OGT Inns, to assist guests with exploring all our inn and room options, as well as to offer a seemless experience no matter which of our inns  guests may select.

As Heath expanded in owning additional inns, his vision continued to be focused on guest experiences — where people can disconnect from the rush and reconnect with what matters: good food, the environment from fresh salt air to our pictureque scenery, and genuine conversation. Heath's promise also remains at the forefront of all that he creates with the team: thoughtful hospitality, honest comfort, and a warm welcome every time the door opens.

Heath expanded further in 2022 with Hartwell House Inn, now renamed the Inn at Perkins Cove and in 2023, the Inn on Shore Road.  While he never envisioned being a multi-inn owner, her realized that he could expand and still continue to create meaningful experiences.  In February of 2024, Heath opened Perkins Cove Kitchen at the Inn at Perkins Cove, so guests could experience elevated dining in the area!  That same year, he was approached by another inn owner and well... you guessed it... in September of 2024, Heath began operating the Abalonia Inn.

What's next for us... Heath says that he is staying focused on our current inns and the restaurant, and doesn't have any plans to expand in the near future.  That said, will there be another local innkeeper that approaches Heath next?  Stay tuned!

  • Local discovery: Visiting the Saturday farmers’ market for ingredients and conversation.
  • Guest moments: Hearing returning guests say they feel more relaxed than when they arrived.

Ownership

Our inns are owned and operated by a local community member, Heath Ouellette.  Heath moved to Ogunquit in 2018 after returning to Maine from San Francisco and Napa, California.  Ogunquit has always felt like home to Heath and wanted to live where he also enjoys to spend his time.  Heath loves the character and charm of Ogunquit and it was an easy decision to make our Village his home.  It had been a long time dream of Heath's to own a bed and breakfast, and Ogunquit was the perfect place, where Heath had vacationed from afar and on weekend visits when he lived in Portalnd, Maine.

As a native Mainer, born and raised in Aroostock County, Heath grew up in a small town on the US and Canadian Border, Van Buren.  Heath's family relocated to Hampden, Maine when he was 9 years old, where he started his first business ventures from delivering the local newspaper on his bike to mowing lawns and landscaping throughout the local area.  Heath later attended and graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington.

Prior to entering into hospitality, Heath worked for several community action non-profit agencies, the federal government,  and on several federal contracts for training and technical assistance supporting quality early care and education.  After a 20 year career, Heath was burned out and wanted a change.  He had a dream of owning a bed & breakfast, and fell in love with the Nellie Littlefield Inn & Spa, and decided it was time to fullfill his dream when it came for sale in 2019.

Heath is extensively involved in our local community.  He is a member of the local Rotary Club, in which he served as President from 2022-2023.  Heath also has worked on the Ogunquit Pride Committee and was a founding member.  In 2019, Heath was also elected to the Ogunquit Select Board and served as Chair from 2020-2022.

Heath prides himself on being a active owner and operator.  He is involved in most day-to-day operations, albeat often behind the scenes.  He is always focused on how our team can improve guest experiences and elevated experiences we offer.

Heath's touch is all throughout our inns from how we offer our services to how our inns are decorated.  Most pieces of furniture, art, and decor have been hand selected by Heath.  His passion for design and antiquing shines at each of our properties... if you find a old trunk, suitcase, camera, or typewriter at our inns, it is certainly one of his finds!

Heath also loves to landscape and is often found in our gardens, as landscaping centers him and is his art.
